Fun Day Friday  Fridays tend to be a bit more relaxed after a busy week so are the perfect time to practise sharing and caring (respect), being positive and using our initiative - through play.   Some of the boys had a wonderful time today building a city together.  Look at  their proud  faces! Another group spent time practising a play to perform next week.    While some others played hangman together. It was a happy day!

Totara Junior School Assembly  Whanau Totara ran the Junior School Assembly on Monday and what a show it was!!  Well done to all the children you did a fantastic job!!  I felt so proud  as the children sang and danced their hearts out as they performed the Maori action song 'Korero'.  Special recognition needs to go to Charlie for reciting his Pepeha, and  Elyssa, Hunter and Ibrahim represented our class with speaking roles.    The children had fun designing their own Maori headbands and wore them with pride.  The song related to our Term 4 Inquiry topic 'Two Worlds Meet'.

Grandparents Day and Book Week Book week is always fun, especially when we end the week with a Book Character Dress Up Day! Combining this with Grandparents Day and Class Reward Day makes it the BEST DAY EVER according to the Room 26 children. Inventors Day It was wonderful to have so many family members come along to our Inventors Day on Wednesday 5th July.  Everybody had fun inventing crazy glasses out of pipe cleaners and even some of the parents chose to wear these fashion accessories. The children enjoyed sharing the cars, planes and propellor boats they made over the term. The whole school was buzzing all morning with inventing happenings. What a great way to end an inquiry topic. Following are some photos from Room 26.  Check out Uthesh and Ibrahim's great costumes! Check out the cool cars the children made with Jaime earlier in the term.

Matariki Celebrations It's always fun to celebrate Matariki with the children.  This year we all made kites out of plastic bags.  We decorated them with beautiful pictures of things that are special to us.  Next week we will start making out ornamental kites which will be displayed at the Art Exhibition in Term 3.
